Makenna's new school pictures

Makenna had her picture made at school in mid April 2009. We think they turned out pretty great!!!

And just for fun, here's a picture of Makenna looking adorable on a Sunday morning before church. Aren't her pigtails just the cutest?

Reading to Makenna's class at daycare

Last week Chad went to visit Makenna's class at daycare and read them a few books. Here is a video clip of him reading "Buzz Buzz Busy Bees," one of Makenna's favorite books. All the children seemed to enjoy it, except for Makenna. We don't think she liked sharing her books and her dad with the other children!

Easter 2009

Makenna got quite the haul from the Easter bunny this year...

She looked beautiful in her Easter dress!

Our big news!

Ok, most folks probably already know, but we are expecting baby #2 in our family! The baby is due Oct 18. Check out this cool picture of Makenna...

Superbowl Sunday

On Superbowl Sunday, Chad and I had my family over to play Rock Band, have some "super" snacks, and watch the big game! Chad made some delicious barbecued meatballs, layered Mexican dip, hummus with chips, and veggies and dip. Here are a few pics from the event.

MJ sporting her Detroit Lions shirt... Ok, so they weren't in the Super Bowl, but someday Daddy hopes they will be!

SNOW DAY!!!!

Today we got to stay home from work due to the terrible ice & snow storm that came through last night and this morning. We took advantage of this winter wonderland and took Makenna (and Bode) outside to play in the snow! We tried to coax Murphy outside to play with us too, but he just wanted to stay inside where it's nice and warm. We all had a great time. Check out the pics and videos!!

Wow! It's really coming down out here!!!

Sitting down in the snow

It's hard to walk in all this snow!

Daddy pulled Makenna around the church yard in her sled. We found a pile of snow covered dirt we considered having her sled down, but we decided it was too steep.

We ended up making a little ramp of snow off our back patio, and Makenna had a great time sledding down it!

Dancing to Yo Gabba Gabba

Makenna's friend from daycare, Lola, likes to watch a show on Nick called Yo Gabba Gabba. We thought Makenna might like to watch it too. Check out the video!

Visiting Santa, sort of...

We're still playing a bit of catch-up... Back in December, I dressed Makenna up to go sit on Santa Claus's lap at Sam's Club. When we got there, she freaked out and didn't want anything to do with Santa! She threw a holy fit and was screaming her head off, so we opted not to take any pictures on Santa's lap. When we got home I took some pictures of her in her pretty outfit by the tree anyway...

Star gymnast in the making!!!

So since mama was a gymnast as a kid, we thought Makenna might like to give it a try too! In December we took her for a trial class at Kids Are Tops in Centerville, and she just loved it!!! Here is Makenna going over the vault for the first time with Daddy helping her...

Whoa... the balance beam is kinda tricky!!

Look at me, Mom! I can do it!

This pit with blocks is so squishy!

This trampoline is kinda hard to stand on...

What a fun class!!

More playing catch up! Beggar's Night

Although Makenna was born last year before Beggar's Night, this was her first year to go trick or treating! She dressed up as a "flower fairy" and was SUPER cute. The costume was supposed to have a headband with it, but Makenna wasn't having that, so we just did some pig tails instead. Here she is checking out all the kids coming up the sidewalk in their costumes...

Getting ready to head out and score some candy!!

Makenna rode around for trick or treat in her brand new wagon that she got for her birthday.

YAY! Getting some candy... YUM!
Hanging out on the porch after trick or treating...

Playing catch up... Makenna's birthday

Ok! It has been quite a while since my first post! I am going to go back in time just a bit to re-cap some of our recent events. I am going to start with a few pictures from Makenna's birthday party. Makenna turned 1 on Sep 29, and her party was on Saturday, Oct 4, 2008. We held a backyard barbecue with about 30 of our closest friends and family, and everyone had a great time!

Here is a picture of Makenna on her actual birthday... mama remembered at the last minute before bedtime that I needed to take a few pictures of her! She was a tired little girl...

The morning of Makenna's birthday party, she also had swimming lessons down at the Kettering Rec. Makenna's Grandma Deb and Grandma Jo also went to watch lessons! This picture was taken before we got in the cold, cold water...

Here are a few pictures from the party... Eating lunch... pulled pork from City BBQ! Yum!

Makenna with ALL her presents... she got LOTS of great gifts!!

Here is Makenna opening gifts, with mama helping her... YAY! A Michigan hat from Grandma and Grandpa Brant!

Here is Makenna trying out her new table and chair set that daddy and mama refinished for her...

Makenna really enjoyed eating her cake...

My first post!!

A great friend of mine gave me the great idea to start a blog! Maybe this will help family members keep up with us!! Here's a few recent pics of Makenna to start things off right!! ~Bethany
